Film Poster of Hachiko: A Dog's Story
which stars Richard Gere
This movie would really touch the heart of anyone who will watch it. Hachi ("Hachiko"), an Atika breed canine, is adopted by a university professor. Everyday, Hachi would accompany his master from home to the train station and wait there until his master comes back from work. LOYALTY of Hachi is extremely noticeable after his master's death. He keeps on waiting for his master just infront of the train station despite of his master's death. This continues in days, weeks, months, until 10 years. Hachi died outside the train station, just in the place where he used to wait for his master.
The movie was based on the real story of Hachiko, an Atika breed canine, who happens to be the symbol of LOYALTY among the people in Japan. In April 1935, a bronze statue in his likeness was erected at Shibuya Station. Hachiko was born on November 10, 1923 and died on March 8, 1935. His stuffed and mounted remains are kept at the National Science Museum of Japan in Ueno, Tokyo, Japan.
