Mock Election @ Ateneo de Davao University

DAVAO CITY. The Ateneo de Davao University is conducting Mock Elections 2010 in its Jacinto Campus on 13 and 15 March 2010, Saturday and Monday, announced Fr. Kim Lachica S.J. today. Ateneo students, faculty, staff and administrators shall vote for their candidates for President and Vice President and Davao City Mayor and Vice Mayor only.

The mock polls shall be automated, according to Lachica. "We will use a customized version of the open-source voting system that the University of the Philippines - Diliman developed and used for its Halalan sa Diliman 2010," Lachica added.
To guarantee the integrity of the mock election results, the list of qualified voters for Ateneo mock polls shall preloaded from the University's database system. Further, voters shall be issued a computer-generated password upon presentation of the barcoded University ID card.
Davao City residents shall be able to vote for their candidates for the top two positions of both the national and local levels. Non-Davao City residents shall be able to vote for their Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates only.
The polling places are Rooms F-600 and F-601, Finster Hall, at the Ateneo Jacinto Campus. Votes may be cast from 7AM to 5PM on Saturday, 13 March, and from 7AM to 9PM on Monday, 15 March 2010.
Lachica S.J. heads the Technical Working Group for the Mock Elections. He is the Assistant for Social Apostolate of the Philippine Province of the Society of Jesus.
